The Advanced Rotavalve Recirculation is a microfluidic 6 ports/2 positions valve. It allows the recirculation of fluid in a closed loop. With no dead volume, wetted materials featuring high bio and chemical compatibility and one of the fastest switching speeds available on the market, the Rotavalve is the key ingredient for efficient and long-term cell culture experiments.

Its compact form factor, its robust casing and its fixation points make it ideal for mechanical integration.

Its high speed serial connection is compatible with both any serial controllers and the Advanced Control Center for large and complex microfluidic systems.

What is the typical set of instruments for a recirculation experiment?

Combined with an Advanced Pressure Controller and a Control Center, the Rotavalve Recirculation allows medium recirculation keeping the direction of the flow unilateral. Using the capabilities of the Control Center, wide options for automation are available. Adding a MFS flow sensor in the system allows to control the flow rate with great accuracy.

The Rotavalve Recirculation is a powerful device for dynamic cell culture. As a consequence, it can be used for organ-on-a-chip studies, stem cell assays, toxicity tests, drug testing, cell response to a medium change and many more.

We do not recommend the use of solutions containing suspended particles with the Rotavalve Recirculation as this can lead to leaks at the valve head. We recommend filtering solutions with 10µm filters.

Installation of the Rotavalve in a more complete prototype is facilitated thanks to its own fixation points. The module can then be held in position and no preferred mounting orientation is necessary, ensuring a high degree of freedom.
