  • Communication Type: Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter (UART)

It is a suite of six control modules, organized around a main module called the OEM control center. This module acts as the brain of the fluid handling brick with all of the communication protocol passing through it. 

Up to five modules can be connected to the control center, among which: 

  • a pressure controller, for pressure management and flow regulation, 
  • a valve hub, for the control of up to 16 valves, 
  • a sensor hub, for the data acquisition of up to 4 sensors, 
  • a rotavalve, a rotary valve with either a 12 to 1 port option, which is called distribution valve or a 6 ports and 2 positions option, called a recirculation valve,
  • and finally a hub, an additional module acting as a relay. With this module, you can connect 5 additional modules to a single port of the control center, allowing up to 25 module connections on a single control center. 

Accessories have also been included in this range to facilitate user experiments. 

  • Elveflow provides low and high pressure valves, ideal for diverse applications. 
  • We also provide an assembly kit to assemble the modules rapidly and optimize the mechanical integration of the different modules
  • and last but not least, an adapter has been designed for easy prototyping. This tool helps any user to start with their experiments.

This range of products has been designed to meet the needs of anyone looking to integrate a fluid control system into a more complex machine, communicating with other control systems such as imaging or detection. In discussions with our customers, we identified some struggles when prototyping and a real need for automation capabilities. The various functional bricks they were using were difficult to integrate with each other, and development work was time-consuming and costly. 

This range is not only suited for start-ups developing their prototypes, but also for academics wanting to automate and optimize their experiments, as well as manufacturers aiming to reduce their development time. 

This range has been optimized to bridge the gap between benchtop experiments and product commercialisation. No more heavy investments of time and money in endless hardware developments, as we have already taken care of those inconveniences. Our goal is to have our users concentrate on their applications for improved efficiency. 

Yes, the OEM range is compatible with the ESI, the Elveflow software. Once the user establishes a connection between the control center and the ESI, all the modules connected to the control center are in turn automatically recognized by the software. 

The software has been developed as a tool to understand the basics of UART. The aim is to impart and speed up the control and learning of the OEM range. The user will find translations of software actions into UART commands and it will also be possible to directly copy the function to a sequencer.  

Our goal with this software is to help our users make an easy and smooth transition to UART command code.

All Elveflow sensors are integrated within the OEM range, except for the BFS sensor. The range is also compatible with all analog sensors with 0/10 V input signal and with up to 24V supply. 

Absolutely not. Only one sensor can be connected on a pressure controller module because the M8 port and the bracket of 4 pins are connected together.

On the control center, all 24V valves can be connected. On the valve hub, 24 and 12 V valves can be connected. The user can switch by line of eight valves for precise valve management across 12V or 24V valves for versatile setups.

If you are not familiar with this UART communication, do not worry. The OEM part of the Elveflow software is for you. It has been designed to make it easier to understand UART commands and the architecture of the OEM range. Moreover, our team provides documentation such as application notes and use cases to help.  

The transition from MK4 to OEM involves some changes, since the architecture of the OEM range compared to off-the-shelf instruments is not the same. However, the syntax does not change and the basic commands are strictly the same. So the transition will be easy.

Yes, it is possible. How so? You can integrate a touch screen into the OEM ecosystem. Our R&D team presented a prototype of such a system during the Analytica trade show in Munich in April. Without any computer connection, by touching the play button on the screen it is possible to launch a sequence and then stop it by touching the stop button.
