Microfluidics webinar replay

Glaucoma Drainage Devices, microfluidic approches

Emre Kara, Assistant Professor (University of Gaziantep) presents Glaucoma Drainage Devices.

“In this webinar, a novel in-vitro microfluidics experimental setup from engineering perspective is introduced to comparatively study on currently employed glaucoma drainage devices (GDD) for the glaucoma treatment. Prior to the design, up-to-date in-vitro experimental setups are surveyed and their drawbacks are discussed. Resultantly, this novel experimental setup is proposed. Computational fluid dynamics simulations are performed in ANSYS computational fluid dynamics (CFD) module, ANSYS Fluent, with porous media model. Experiments after the completion of numerical simulations are provided to observe flow characteristics and to compare the experimental results with CFD results.”
